Every printed circuit board tells a story about the decisions made long before the first prototype came off the line. 1. Ignoring Signal Integrity Early

Signal integrity problems are far cheaper to fix on paper than on a fabricated board. Treat trace length, impedance and return paths as first-class constraints from the very first schematic pass, not an afterthought during layout.

2. Poor Component Placement

Placement drives everything downstream: routing density, thermal performance and even manufacturability. Group related components, keep high-speed nets short, and leave room for test points before you commit to a layout.

3. Skipping Design Rule Checks

4. Underestimating Thermal Management

Power components generate heat that has to go somewhere. Use copper pours, thermal vias and adequate spacing to keep hot components from throttling — or damaging — the rest of the board.
